Scientist in ecology and dynamics of cold ecosystems


The Mountain Ecosystems research team studies impacts of climate, natural disturbances and land-use on mountain ecosystems and their services and is offering a Tenure-track position for a:

Duty

You will develop innovative research projects, seek third-party funding and contribute to ongoing monitoring programs and global network related to plant ecology in cold ecosystems (e.g. alpine, tundra and treeline ecotones) and how they respond to global change. You carry out research projects independently and in collaboration with other staff, supervise students, publish the results in international journals and present them at international conferences. Contributions to outreach activities and teaching are welcome.

Requirement

You hold a PhD degree in biology, ecology, botany, environmental sciences or a related field and have experience in experimental field work, statistical evaluation (particularly with R), and spatial analysis using GIS. You are experienced in handling and analysing large and long-term data sets as well as in publishing scientific articles with high international impact.As an experienced team player, you possess good oral and written communication skills in English (German would be of advantage). Furthermore you are well-organised and capable of working independently and efficiently.
