CO2-reduction electrocatalysis in a bipolat co-electrolyzer configuration

For the Eletrochemistry Laboratory we are looking for a
Aufgaben
  • Preparation of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) based on commercial bipolar membranes and commercial or in-house CO2-reduction and O2-evolution electrocatalysts
  • Electrochemical testing of these MEAs in a custom made co-electrolysis test bench, including online product analysis and electrochemical diagnostic methods to assess and optimize coeletrolyzer performance
  • Post-mortem characterization of the MEAs with various microscopy and spectroscopic techniques to determine the effects of prolongued operation on its individual components
  • Publish the results of these works in well regarded journals
Anforderung
You hold a university degree (MSc or equivalent) in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science or a related field. You have hands-on experience in electrochemistry, enjoy practical work using advanced instrumentation and like to conduct research in a team. You possess very good communication skills in English. Welcome assesst include hands-on experience in MEA preparation and/or testing (i.e., in fuel cells or (co-)electrolyzers) and/or in CO2-electroreduction.
