Postdoctoral Research Fellow in AI/ML for Musculoskeletal Imaging Data 80 – 100%
Duty
• Develop computational algorithms in both discriminative (Spatio-temporal image segmentation) and generative (synthetic CT/MRI generation) deep learning-based models in MSK imaging research.
• Imaging databases creation and curation.
• Design and implement protocols for efficient data transfer to the services running in the cloud.
• Supervision of undergraduate/graduate students.
• Publish and present scientific outcomes at Intl. conferences and high-impact journals.
• Maintain close collaboration with research and clinical partners.
Requirement
• This project calls for an enthusiastic and self-motivated early career researcher interested in working at the intersection of the computational and biomedical sciences. Candidates should have, or expect to soon obtain, a PhD in a relevant discipline and experience in computer vision/deep learning. They must also have strong mathematical and coding skills, and preferably some experience in open-source software development.
• We are looking to hire a medical imaging researcher at the post-doctoral level to expand our research. Funding is secured for the position through the end of 2024.
PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or equivalent field.
• Experience with medical image analysis of multi-modal MSK imaging data:
o Experience with deformable image registration
o Background in building, optimizing and applying ML/DL algorithms for analysis of medical image datasets.
• Strong publication record.
• Excellent programming skills in Python and PyTorch including fundamental software engineering principles and machine learning design patterns. Preferred: Hands-on experience with the MONAI framework (https://monai.io/) and with cloud computing.
• Experience in a cloud computing environment such as Azure is a plus.
• Ability to work with others in an inter-disciplinary team.
• Based on your experience, you have a proven capability to drive research projects on your own – generate Grant funding.
Benefit
