Scientist in statistical forest modeling (70%)
The Research Unit Forest Resources and Management investigates and evaluates status and changes in the landscape and in the forest. Within the framework of the Swiss National Forest Inventory (NFI), the Resource Analysis Group, which develops forest development scenarios under changing climatic conditions, is looking for a
Duty
As part of a team, you will revise and maintain a comprehensive NFI-based forest development model. You extend this model to analyze new challenges such as climate change, increased and altered mortality, and improve the modeling of different calamities. You will also deepen international collaboration in statistical forest modeling. You publish your results in international journals and at congresses.
Requirement
You have a completed dissertation in forestry or environmental sciences and several years of professional experience in statistical modeling of forest development. You have already demonstrated your statistical knowledge and programming skills on several occasions. Experience in international publishing and a good command of English are required. You speak at least one national language and work team-oriented, independently, on schedule and creatively.
