Senior Software Developer
The Chair of Interaction- and Communication-based Systems at the Institute of Computer Science at the University of St. Gallen is seeking a candidate for a position as
Duty
at the University of St. Gallen, per July 1st, 2020 or by mutual agreement

Our research group at the Chair for Interaction- and Communication-based Systems is exploring interactions among people and increasingly autonomous devices in pervasive computing environments. We are doing research and designing and implementing cyber-physical systems and demonstrators at the intersection of Web technologies, agent technologies and multiagent systems, context awareness, and Mixed Reality. Our main driver behind this position is our desire to increase the quality and re-use of our published code as well as the speed of our development process. 

We are looking for you if
  • you have strong skills in high-level object-oriented programming languages and can work independently in programming non-trivial systems
  • your skillset comprises Web engineering and/or novel user interface technologies
  • you have basic knowledge and some experience with state-of-the-art tools for (semantic) data collection, data analysis and data exploration (e.g., NoSQL databases, Graph databases, RDF, etc.) as well as stream processing (e.g., Storm, Flink, Esper, Kafka) 
  • you have a good working knowledge of Linux including server administration and simple scripting
  • you have significant experience in agile software development and in establishing and maintaining (open source) software development processes
  • you have very good communication skills in English and German
  • you are interested in sharing your software development expertise within the team and within a broader scope at the University
