Head of Laboratory for Building Energy Materials & Components
We are looking for a
Duty
Sustainable materials solutions for a climate-neutral society, and their implementation in the built environment are key themes of the laboratory. The activities are based on fundamental scientific research in building materials, such as the synthesis of new materials and its analytical characterization as well as the exploration of applications and the development of pilot-scale demonstrations in close interaction with industrial partners. Currently the lab is highly focused on applications of advanced analytical methods to sorbents, aerogels and superinsulation materials. Further development is highly welcome. The Lab comprises today three research groups covering these topics and an expertise in computational material science. Your tasks
As an inspirational research leader, you are responsible for a highly interdisciplinary laboratory by enhancing and enabling new research topics, developing existing and initiate new projects and obtain funding for national and international projects. Business administration and financial management of the lab belong to your tasks. You will establish collaborations on a national and international level with scientific and industrial partners and organise local and international scientific events.
Requirement
Your Profile
You have an excellent record of accomplishment as renowned researcher in material science with a strong focus in building energy materials development and hold a doctoral degree in the Physical, Chemical or Materials Sciences. We expect expertise in project acquisition as well as in leading research projects and maintaining long-term collaborations with scientific and industrial partners. Excellent publishing and communication skills are expected together with a broad professional national and international network. You are a team player and your strengths include taking personnel and financial leadership and result responsibility, high motivation for excellence, and flair for elaborating out-of-the-box solutions. Business fluent language skills in German and in English, both written and spoken are required.
